In the last chapter of Lance Armstrong’s biography, he makes the following statement that resounds with me:
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever. That surrender, even the smallest act of giving up, stays with me. So when I feel like quitting, I ask myself, which would I rather live with?
That statement is like the rest of his book, extremely motivational. I personally believe that you should never let anything hold you back, and you gotta work for what you want. Reading Lance’s recount of his survival of cancer to become a world cycling champion was inspirational.
