Lights On

Everyone keeps talking about the rising cost of fuel and that we’ll be running out of it soon. How we should conserve energy by switching from big SUVs to better fuel-economy models, to hybrids, and etc…

What about simply turning off the lights when you leave a room? Or better yet, turn off those fancy building lights at night. But no, cities love being able to brag about their awesome skyline at night, so all those power-hungry super-lights must be kept on. For what? For the sake of keeping them on?

What are your thoughts…

ok mo, you made me have to sign up for another blog!! :p you know, when i first came to the States, atlanta ofcourse. when I saw the skyline, all the buildings with half of their lights on, I found it very weird. being a naive 13 year old, I thought many times, I wonder if its because there are people still working in there. but at midnight? wow, those americans are really hardworking! Now i realized that how the values we used to hold can easily be desensatized when the rest of the society believed in something else. so yeah, we should keep lights off when we dont need them.

Energy is a funny thing. We use so much of it throughout the day. I say just use it while you can, when you run out, think of something else.
